Since 2015, SCP has integrated public art into Downtown Springfield’s economic development efforts, transforming utility boxes into vibrant murals that enhance the city’s landscape. The initiative launched with an electrifying kick-off event at Stearns Square Park during the Springfield Under the Stars movie night, where the community embraced the project with enthusiasm. Inspired by its success, artists have continued adding their creative touch to more boxes throughout the district.
